ISO 14000 & Environmental Management Systems
Course Description
The comprehensive course provides training
on ISO 14000:2004 series of standards, the components of ISO 14001, and
development & implementation of an effective ISO 14001 EMS.
Instructional graphics, animations, and interactive exercises, questions, are
incorporated into each of the modules to help engage the user , The resultant series, ISO14000, is divided
into a number of mutually dependent standards, including:

Course Objective
By
the end of the course students will be able to:
- Describe
the purpose of an environmental management system and explain the legislative
framework relevant to an EMS.
- Explain
the purpose of the ISO 14000 series of standards, how they interrelate and the
benefits to organizations of using ISO 14001 and Explain key ISO 14000 Series
definitions and terminology.
- Outline
the content of ISO 14001 and the ISO 14000 series guidance standards.
- Describe,
with reference to the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle, the structure and
scope of ISO 14001.
- For each
numbered1 clause of ISO 14001:
- Explain
the intent of the requirement.
- Suggest
possible ways in which organizations might satisfy the requirement.
- Determine
conformance of a management system to ISO 14001 requirements
